parking and accessibility

Saturdag 11 May

  • The city center will become parking-free from 4 p.m. The center will become traffic-free from 5 p.m. The activities start at 6 p.m.
    Please note that there are local exceptions for the construction of some activities, such as on the Grote Markt and Vandenpeereboomplein.

  • By bike: The center is parking-free from 4 p.m. Place your bike in the center, but keep the public road clear for emergency services and the Kattenrijders acts.

  • By train: Ypres station is accessible.
    You can walk to the center via Stationsstraat or De Stuerstraat / Boterstraat.

  • By bus: The Grote Markt stop is not served. Get off at the station.

  • By car: The city center is parking-free from 4 p.m.
    Use the peripheral car parks: Minneplein, Station, Rijselpoort and Oud Krijgerslaan.
    Please note: the Leopold III Laan and Hoornwerk will be used to prepare the parade from Saturday 10 a.m. (depending on weather conditions).

Zondag 12 mei

  • The city center will become parking-free from 10am. The center will become traffic-free from 12 noon.
    The advertising caravan will be set up in Frenchlaan from 11 a.m. Please note that you will experience a lot of inconvenience to the center via this road (also on foot and by bicycle).
    Use Basculestraat to go to the center.

  • By bicycle: Use the extra bicycle parking spaces at the edge of the course.
    Minneplein (football square)
    Stationsplein: to the left of the Lijnwinkel / Cambiopunt
    Diksmuidestraat between Janseniusstraat and Grote Markt – only on parking lane.

  • By train: Ypres station is accessible.
    You can walk to the center via Stationsstraat or De Stuerstraat / Boterstraat.

  • By bus: The Grote Markt and station stops are not served. A temporary stop will be set up at the De Lijn depot in Haiglaan. (300 meters to the trail)
    For coaches: drive via Diksmuidestraat to the intersection with Cartonstraat. There is a drop-off point there. Via Cartonstraat you drive to Lange Torhoutstraat.
    There is parking for coaches at the Oostkaai.

  • By car – disability card: Anyone who bought a ticket for the wheelchair zone on the Grote Markt, meanwhile, received a passage and parking ticket for Sint-Maartensplein.
    Additional parking spaces are provided for less mobile people:
    – Haiglaan between Plumerlaan and Elverdingestraat
    – Janseniusstraat: part of the parking lot at Astridpark
    – Meenseweg (near Zonnebeekseweg)
    – Poperingseweg (near Tulpenlaan)

  • By car: The city center is parking-free from 10 a.m. and completely traffic-free from 12 noon.
    In addition to the normal peripheral parking, extra parking is organized:
    Haiglaan: herringbone between Oude Veurnestraat and Elverdingestraat
    Meenseweg: herringbone between Frenchlaan and Steverlyncklaan
    Rijselseweg: one side between Kemmelseweg and the Rijselpoort roundabout
    Poperingseweg: herringbone between Omloopstraat and Tulpenlaan
    Zonnebeekseweg: herringbone between Frenchlaan and Jan Ypermanstraat
    Parking Colruyt (parking closes at 8 p.m.)
    Parking Picanol (parking closes at 8 p.m.)

    VIP / invited guests: parking at Ter Waarde (a shuttle bus will be provided)
    Sponsors with the Minneke Poes sponsorship formula received a parking ticket for the Esplanade car park.
  • Press: Journalists may only park in the KTA / Minneplein car park upon presentation of a passage ticket
